you know what would be cool? If you could somehow get a mk.111 os for the securatrons from the construction plant.

I believe BigMT was never able to crack the stubborn problem that was the securitrons. I'm not sure why 0 was never able to decrypt the securitron's OS (although House was one of the formost geniuses of the old world, and a foil to BigMT in general), or if there were other factors at work, but I don't believe (IIRC) BigMT produced any fully functional prototypes. So long story short their attempts resulted in only damaged or berserk bots from the Securitron line. I think it would be very unlikely they would have produced something more stable and functional than Houses MK II OS, since they couldn't duplicate the original MK I OS. The lore on this one strongly points at BigMT's securitron research being a complete and abject failure.

The only way I think something like your asking could be done, without trashing the back story, is if the platinum chip was delivered to them. Perhaps you could theorize that the decrypted chip would have the source code (and if it doesn't, I'd say it was safe to say it is lost forever) and other relevant info for 0 to begin experimenting and improving.

Okay guys I have an entire questline for BM, might have some juice in it.

This will take place following the events of big mountain. The digsite where the drone foreman is located there will be an explosion, exposing a cave, once inside the cave you will uncover a greater secret about Big Mountain, a Vault. This vault is vault 213. opening it up will trigger a new questline that allows you to uncover mysteries of big mountain that even the stations could not have recorded, this vault will have a ghoulified member of big mountains original crew, still wandering around the vault. This ghoul will explain that big mountains reactors powering the think tank will detonate and destroy everything unless they are restored to proper functional order. also you can use a machine that the ghoul had kept up maintenance on allowing you to revisit big mountain in its prime. Revisiting big mountain will uncover secrets that were lost to weathering and time such as secret passages and access codes. Following this you can open doors to different facilities which might be expanded quite a bit, unlocking new items and areas as you progress the story line. for this matter id say you can visit the vr pod anytime you want, its not linear but totally free so you dont actually have to find all the secrets of the old big mountain to finish the story line. you have a choice to let the think tank crumble and implode on itself shutting down all electricity in bm, or fixing it to optimal power. there are sidequests where you can restore parts of the research centers by reprogramming the construction drones. failure to restore the reactors will make the mountain permanantly shut down of all electical things making every place using powered doors inacessable.

also fix the weapons testing research facility.

thoughts?

I don't think there was any coloboration between vault-tec and BigMT, at least not of any significance that I recall. I don't think it's likely there would be a vault-tec facility in BigMT, but we have floated teh idea of going back in time (due to a BigMT chrono/spatial morphic experiment) to BigMT's past, and of course access to other, undiscovered facilities via various events. We also have a large amount of open territory, roughly 50% more land beyond the radar fence for additional facilities.

Also fix the weapons testing research facility.

Sorry brother, could you run that by me in a little more detail?

Well even though it doesnt say Vault Tec worked with Big Mountain you cant exactly say they didnt do some kind of dealings in the past. after all big mountain did infact contract outside to third parties to generate revenue

The Y-0 Facility i imagine is the weapons testing research facility since it is what caused the mountain to vaporize as said here

that at least i imagine is infact the weapons testing facility judging by what happened

You don't want to play at proving a negative, it's a broken argument in this case. As an example I can't prove that unicorns don't (or didn't) exist but I feel confident in stating that they didn't because there is no evidence of their existence.

Yep which doesn't support your assertion at all. Because BigMT fulfilled contracts for the Gov and civilian entities provides no credence that they would hire Vault-Tec, a competing contractor to build a shelter within BigMT....they seem more than able to do that themselves considering the number of facilities located under untold tons of the mountains mass.

Read the wiki page you linked to and it didn't state anything related to vaporizing the mountain, just Y-0 facility. Y-0 doesn't appear to be a weapons facility, the only tech info you can recover from the location deals with the sierria madre vending machines. I think it's commonly accepted that BigMT was targeted and heavily nuked during the great war.

also it doesnt have to be a vault. can be another facility, maybe a third think tank style dome underground.

Yep, they are more than capable at completing their own construction.

I remember Dr. Klein or was it mobious stated that he vaporized the top of the mountain with y-0

EDIT found it its implied but not explicitly stated

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Y-0_research_center#Notes

EDIT 2 Due to a failed experiment conducted in the Y-0 research center, the mountain above the center was vaporized, leaving behind a giant crater and exposing the facility. This catastrophe did not faze the researchers, and the efforts in pushing the boundaries of science continued unabated. The new land exposed by the explosion was adapted for scientific purposes: new facilities were established, both above- and below-ground, including an artillery test field and a test town.
