Troubles with the Basics

Hey all, I just started using the Nexus Mod Manager and for the most part everything's running smoothly. Although, there's a couple of mods that I have questions about and some that don't seem to actually be working properly. This is my first attempt at modding Skyrim so I may be making simple mistakes. I couldn't find much in the way of walkthroughs or anything like that on the forums, other than the topic "[iMPORTANT] Load Order and You" which almost completely went right over my head.

 

So far all I've done is downloaded my desire mods with the manager and activated them. Is there more I should being doing?

 

I have another quick question: Waiting through all the start and tutorial sort of area just to test/check mods is tedious. But I know for oblivion if you don't make a clean save there can be issues. Does anyone have a suggestion to make things a bit quicker or am I just missing something?

 

 

 

So here's the mods I would like to ask about:

ApachiiSkyHair -(http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10168) - Start a new game and none of the hair styles seem available for character selection. The description stated they're for "Humans", which I assumed for some reason included Nords, Imperials, Bretons, Redgaurd, ect. Do I need to install a new race for this to work?

 

Cloaks of Skyrim - (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12092) - I couldn't find any new craftable items with this mod, and I didn't notice any cloaks on any NPCs.

 

Bandolier - Bags and Pouches - (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=16438) - I couldn't find any new craftable items with the mod.

 

Remodeled Armor CBBEv3M by MAK - (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13004) - reading up on the description and checking the images lead me looking for a chest just inside whiterun. Nothing's there.

 

Skyrim HD - 2K Textures by NebuLa - (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=607) - I assumed I was suppose to install all the different packs seperately if I wanted the whole deal, but when I do they try to overwrite eachother and give me different options. I went with whatever let me have each one activated, but I don't know what was the proper way to install them. The game started crashing after, but I don't know if this is the cause. Regardless I'd like to know the right way to install all the textures together using NMM.

 

 

Alright, that's all I can think of off the top of my head (I don't currently have access to my skyrim computer). But I'll continue to use this thread with other inquires.
