StarkeyGS
I made a mod for fallout new vegas and i imported some files i wanted like "rubbleblockade" and some "museums" from fallout 3 to my NV mod. I put the files in the geck and I played it in-game and the mod works Great for me. i sent it to a friend to play and he said there was red dimond (bugs) on everything that i imported from fallout 3, "it works perfctly for me" but it is buggy for my friend. Note: This is what i think is the problem but i have no way of knowing so if you no the answer please tell me. 1) He dose not have FOMOD Manager or Archive Invalidation2) He dose not have Fallout 3 installed (we both use Window XP for gaming)
luthienanarion
It works great for you and not for him because you used files that you have and that he doesn't. There are three ways to fix this: 1. Don't use files that are imported from somewhere else. This is the best option, beyond all doubt. If the models you require aren't in the game files, look for modders' resources you can use files from, or ask another user about using the models in one of their mods. 2. Distribute the imported files along with your mod. This violates more EULA and TOS agreements than I care to mention, and will get you banned from the Nexus. Not recommended. 3. Require that users of your mod own and import the files themselves, and give instructions to do so.This method works, but any kind of user-setup beyond "click-and-install" will drive some people away from using it.For Fallout 3 meshes and textures, you can require that users copy files (like BSA archives) from their Fallout 3 install. An example mod that does this: Fallout 3 DLC ConversionsKeep in mind that people that don't have Fallout 3 will not be able to use your mod.
