Esbern keeps appearing when I fast travel

Ive finished the main quest, but he keeps appearing when I fast travvel. Its not game breaking, but extremely annoying :|

 

I wanna set him non essential then kill him but it might break future quests

@ekt123, hi, this Esbern appearing is a known bug that can happen sometimes and unfixed by Bethesda,

can only happen if you use fast travel, i do not know of a fix yet.

 

In addition, radiant quests involving Esbern that also seem to still not be fixed are:

'Dragon Hunting' quests get bugged (Blades recruits and journal entry gets stuck) if you've previously cleared a location you were sent to.

'Dragon Research' quest is broken as of patch 1.5.

'A Cornered Rat' main quest, not sure if Bethesda fixed the voice files yet or fixed issues preventing quest 'Diplomatic Immunity' from working sometimes.

 

off topic:

Sometimes i think this radiant quest system and designing quests that have dependencies on the status of other unrelated quests or

locations/npc's/objects is the stupidest thing the Bethesda dev's have ever done.

Also, leaving Skyrim's quest system breakable with no warning/protection by leaving it exposed as a freely explorable open world ruins the game.

Prematurely clearing a discovered location or eliminating certain NPC's tends to bug many quests permanently.

Esbern appearing has not happened to me yet; but, i've been ignoring the Blades ever since Delphine's stubborn demand about friendly Paarthurnax.

Have you completed 'Rebuilding the Blades' yet?

I do not like permanently eliminating any NPC but it's your call, please note that Esbern is the only NPC that can grant the 'Dragonslayer's Blessing'

which gives a 10% increased Critical Hit Chance vs. Dragons for 5 days.

 

Guess the only merciful thing you can do if he appears is fast travel to Sky Haven Temple:

coc SkyHavenTemple

and use Esbern's RefID 00019DFD to move him back there and hope he stays there lol:
