Anarchysun85
I have just got this idea while I was watching an episode of SG-1. Now I have no clue if this has been brought up before but it would rock to come across a Stargate in the middle of nowhere. At the gate we find a couple of SG guys wounded from Jaffa staff wounds and they need your help to get them back on there feet. Maybe have they gate open up and have a group of Jaffa come thru and you kill them off. I have a few more ideas but I want to know what you guys think about this idea. SourcerPL
So you watched a movie and want it in skyrim. Well, the idea of Stargates is awesome but it wouldn't fit into TES world imo.
Anarchysun85
Ya that's true but when you've played Skyrim three times over you start looking for new content.
bben46
Skyrim is fantasy. SG-1 is fantasy - what's the problem? Maybe SG-1 doesn't fit your concept of a Skyrim fantasy, However, maybe it would fit in someone elses concept. If everyone had the exact same concept of what was allowed in fantasy it would get boring quickly. Fourtunately, by definition literally ANYTHING is allowed in fantasy. And by picking and choosing the mods you like, your fantasy can be entirely different from some one elses. - This is a good thing. A stargate could be used to transport you to some other world, Not necessarily those from SG-1. Possibly another medieval world similar to Skyrim. The dragon claw door would make a good model for a stargate - and could even be used as is - find a special claw to use to open a gate to a new world. BTW, I went to high school with one of the actors from the original Stargate movie - the one that played the General.
BeschBesch
I really would like seeing some of this, even a non-functional gate, hidden and used by the Dwemers long time ago (nearly every existent dwemer-quest ends more or less with the sentence "Yep, you found it but its broken"). I personally do not understand why it would not fit into Skyrim. If you take the opposite approach, most of the worlds visited by the teams in the Stargate Series ARE inhibted by medival societies (epscially in the late seasons) that have no real awareness of this or any other modern technology. If anyone is going to make a mod with other worlds, he/she would face the more or less indefinite work of building not only several new dungeons but also a complete new exterior world. No to mention eventual new textures. bben46: BTW, I went to high school with one of the actors from the original Stargate movie - the one that played the General. ---> You were in same class with 'General Hammond'? Nice..
