So I dug something up from a box locked with 3 keys, something called "Fresh Toadfoot Cuttings". It's worth a small fortune, 10 million ish. so I'm carrying it around with me because it may be needed, it's just using up space that I don't have spare. googled it and found nothing. has anyone else come across this yet? Do I need it or can I sell it and buy a new ship with the profit?

Go ahead and sell it. Stuff you get from ruin treasure boxes (the big chest that needs 3 keys) only use is to make money.
