Help with basics of Oblivion modding

Hi guys, newb of modding here. Well, I've been trying to install at least some basic mods and I've been getting into nothing but walls. I've reinstalled Oblivion now for countless times over past few days. First I said I'm gonna go with wrye bash. Ok, cool. I installed unofficial patch, overhaul faces v2 and such which can be found on top 10 mods. Then out of nowhere something got f*#@ed up and nothing worked anymore. Ok, sure. Then i go with tes mod maker or whatever. Whenever I download a mod starts giving me fatal error message, something about a dumpfile. Ok, sure, I go for Obmm, can't download mods from nexus because computer doesn't know how to handle such extension and I found no way to associate exm file with Obmm. Well, i download the mod and go and create it in Obmm, it creates it, and when Oblivion launcher comes up says that there is something wrong with esp files idk and I can't tick them for it to load them. Ok, i uninstall all mods (only 1 at this point) and decide Ok, I'm gonna go vanilla... AGAIN. And then I opene Wrye bash one more time just for s#*! and giggles, and it shows me ShiveringislesDLC is in conflict with Knights. I even checked loading order and everything (they are both highlited in red).

Bottom line is, I would like to make Oblivion look a bit nicer, and maaybe put in some new content.

So, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, can somebody PLEAAASE help me, i would at like to install:

The Unofficial Oblivion Patch

Qarl's texture pack III

Oblivion character overhaul v2
Natural environments
Unique landscapes
Darnified

and maybe go with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul

Oco2 requires Blockhead, did you install it?

Did you install Oblivion in your programs folder? Windows has some weird permissions issues that make doing so a bad idea. Try reinstalling in a different folder.

What version of Oblivion are you running? Steam, Gog, Cd? There are different troubleshooting steps depending on what version.
