Josephrose
OK, Im a smart guy, with no clue what I'm doing. Im close to getting a quest going, but stuck on voice recording. Say I record one line. "Can you get my ring back?" Now I have 2 files in folder. .wav and a .lip, and of course, the guy flashes text, and says nothing. Im understanding I need to change the file. I got a file converter, moved both files to it, and converted the two into a single .fuz (at which time the other two files dissapeared if that matters) then placed the new .fuz file back in the folder. loaded mod, no luck. Any explanation on actual file dragging and placing would help a newb like me, since that's the kinda thing people assume everyone knows lol. Also, under Steam/Steamapps/Common/Skyrim/Data/Sound/Voice - There is a few options. "NONE" "Processing" and "MyQuest" Dumb question, but Im assuming I want all my files in "MyQuest" right? Also in the same Voice folder, there is a "Temp" file, Is that correct? I had an issue, where i recorded 3 Lines.- Branch=Can you get my ring - AnswerYes= Rad - AnswerNo + Lame. I recorded them in that order. When I returned to playback line one, it said, Lame.... In my folder I had three lines, that where correct, but the kit's playback button seemed to only playback whatever was last recorded. this is why i was suspicious of that "temp" file.... This is all crazy, but I have a passion for creating. Thank you in advance for any helpful input! Peace.
DreamKingMods
You want to put your voice files in the folder named Skyrim/Data/Sound/Voice/MyQuest.esp/(Voiceset of the speaking actor)/ If that directory doesn't exist then create it by hand. The CK's playback button is for playing back the line just recorded so you can determine if you want to save it. To play an already-recorded sound file in the CK, you need to double-click the file name. This will only work if there is a .wav file, I believe; the CK internally won't play .xwm or .fuz files, although they should play fine in-game. dfac364
I always just use the .fuz .xwm .wav and .lip together and i never have problems
Josephrose
Thank you for your responses. Double good news. First of all, I figured it out. It had nothing to do with file type, it was just a durp of another variety. Secondly, while I was failing, I did learn about file types, and got a .fuz mod. So now It works, AND I can zip it right! It's called Unfuzer, and it works for me. If anyone was wondering.
