Papajack55
I don't know why, but when I try to create a character, it gets down to whether he/she is a rogue or otherwise, the whole thing disappears and nothing can be done. I have done this with character creater and it works there, but when I try to import from the creater, the game crashes. So, I dumped the character creator. Any help will do and be really appreciated.
naomis8329
What mods do you have on and what are they. Its definitely a mod problem causing this I'm sorry to say and for that we need to know what you're running. Don't panic we will get there :)
Thandal
I had this (or something very similar) happpen when I had done an incomplete removal of NV4. The instructions are very detailed, and I had totally forgotten about needing to uninstall it correctly. Had to re-install NV4 then remove it properly before the CC would behave again!
naomis8329
I agree Thandal there's definitely something interfering with it. @Papajack55 if you can download CCleaner run it (twice once for ordinary files and again for registry entries they are under different tools) then try the game, if that doesn't work then you will have to do a fresh install (save your Saves to another folder or directory to put back on later) and run CCleaner again. This should get rid of all files associated with Dragon Age. Reinstall the game and saves, put mods on one by one and see what happens. link for CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard Hope this helpsNaomi

naomis8329
The Layby, Sisters and associated files always caused a problem for me. Imho I would delete the game and anything related to it, keeping copies of your saves and characters and a list of mods that you are running in a separate folder. Run the cleaner to make sure you are well and truly stripped of anything Dragon Age associated and then reinstall the game. Try the characters (yes they should work without the mods they'll just not look the same lol) and then add the mods one by one starting with the cosmetic mods used and then the game play and utility mods. Leave the mods that change world spaces and alter the game dynamics until the end and then add them one by one testing continuously ie, fast travel, movement, party choices etc etc so you know what works and what doesn't, one or more of the mods will glitch and once you find out which ones you have your culprit(s). Like I said I think you will find the ones noted above to be the possible culprits but I may be wrong. Good luck and let me know how you get onNaomi
Papajack55
Fixed it! I had to boot Enigma and Skip The Fade off my updater and then I tried making a character. Worked like a charm too.
naomis8329
Read the other post lol, the Skip the Fade mod should be ok. Hadn't noticed Enigma. I had problems with that too, but Skip the Fade has never been a problem for me. Have funNaomi
Thandal
Yeah, I haven't run without "Skip the Fade" since I first discovered it. (My download date/time stamp says that was March 2010!) Never had it conflict with the CC (which means "Character Creator" in this context, not "CCleaner" the general Windows utility program, which I also have and use. ) So I'd guess it was the other mod that caused your issue... Glad you've sorted it in any case.
