Why Do meshes not line up?

Recommended Posts

I used outfit studio to make a mash up armor and used the brushes to hide clipping. looked good in OS but when loaded into game, the added clothing item still had clipping. I had to move the item +1 on the X axis, (I think) and then it looked in game how it should, but in outfit studio it now looks like it would be in the wrong position.. I know nifskope has this issue but I thought OS was more accurate?

I wasn't far off of where I wanted it, but the +1 move probably could have been a more fine tuned movement. But its a little frustrating to make a change then have to open the game each time to see it..

idk, perhaps I did something wrong, or course, you might expect clipping with movement put this was evident right away while standing still, and quite far off how It looked in OS. I made so many tiny edits to size and position, and then with the brushes.. putting time into small precision like that is kinda pointless if the game doesn't reflect what has been edited correctly.

is there a known offset that OS uses?

Never had any issues like that in OS. Always one on one as ingame unless something is affecting your body nif ingame and not set up accordingly in OS. Like a different skeleton. Also make sure that your outfit is weighted properly to your body reference and that it works for all body slider settings.

p.s. After saving a project in OS, always completely close OS and BS, then reopen BS to build your outfit. Because as soon as BS opens, it loads all the projects. So if you build an outfit you just altered in OS without first closing BS, it will use the old nif!
