supertrick17
Hi, I'm super new to modding so I wanted to give it a try since I know a lot about 3D (Blender,) Texture Painting and so on.So I started using the DAI Mod Maker v1.1.0.19 and exporting a mesh file (in my case "qf_inquisitor_var2_core_0001_model_mesh", the legs) and importing (default settings) it into blender, which works just fine. After moving some vertices around with moving, scaling and sculpting tools, I export it with the setting "selection only", "write normals", "include UVs" and "Objects as OBJ Objects". But then I get the error, that the vertices don't match, even if I didn't change them. Maybe the mesh size is a problem? I don't know. So I start troubleshooting if the import doesn't work in general. I exported the default legs again and importing them right after. That works, BUT after that the preview in the Mod Maker just doesn't show anything. I figured out that this might comes from the fact that the scale is suddently wrong. It seems the program is thinking that if I import something with the scale "1,000" (which is default in my window), it blows it up like it's set to "1 000". This might come from the fact that the program thinks I want it 1 000 times bigger, since the comma (,) is used for that. But my computer is set to german, so we use a dot (.) for that, it's vice versa. And yes, if I import as "1.000" it works, but not correctly, it seems that the normals are wrong, no details showing up and the surface is weird. I did not test if it works ingame but I whink it should work in the preview to also work ingame...Exporting as "1.0" exports the mesh as "1 000" so it's the opposite to importing. Well, I gave up if I cant even get the default DAI mesh working. But maybe someone knows a fix.
