Hello, I tried to replace the silver sword from Skyrim with the silver sword from Oblivion for my own personal use. I extracted the mesh and the texture from Oblivion, copied them in Skyrim in their appropriate folders, and I've assigned the texture to the mesh in nifskope. I can clearly see the sword in nifskope with its texture. It looks exactly like it looks in Oblivion. However, when I try to replace in using the CK, i get a weird error, in the preview window i see a red warning sign with an ! in it. So what am I doing wrong?

Hey maybe, really just maybe, I can help. The error in the preview window must say something. Does it say anything about NiMaterialProperty?. If yes, well, delete the NiMaterialProperty blocks in your nifskope file under your NiTriShape. If no, sorry I couldn't be of help. I myself need much help with the nif file format and have almost no clue myself. Maybe what I just said would be a fatal mistake, but it did solve the problem for a static mesh I was trying to get into skyrim.

You need to copy a BSshader property from a Skyrim mesh as well.

^ This ...

The meshes for Oblivion aren't the same as those used in Skyrim, so they need to be converted first

@calubri

Unfortunatley no, this error doesn't show up to me. Thanks anyway!

Thanks, but could you explain to me how can I do this? This is the first time I encountered models and textures in my works, so I don't know much about them.

I don't plan to relase it, I just want to use it personaly because the silver weapons from Oblivion were my favorite. Personal use is not illegal, I believe? I think I read somewhere that it is.

look at all the how to add an armor or weapon tutorials in the tutorial sticky to get an idea on how to use it to add new models, some info there might be irrelevant to you because its armor or weapon specific but you will atleast learn the basics.
