Aarcus
Gday Skyrim Nexus Community, =D obviously Huge fan of both the game and everyone of you who have put out a mod. even if it just changed 1 thing somewhere because there will always be people looking for a small mod that seems pointless but isn't. Anyway... To business - So I've added a few mods that I've fallen inlove with and now ive had a few ideas for a mod that im sure will attract a few fans. i dont have much modding EXP but i did do a few tweaks for oblivion but nothing for skyrim. so i am here seeking advice - Sorta like a HOW TO lol. ~TILL DEATH DO US PART~Ok so the idea for the mod is simple and relies on your character being married and having their spouse as a companion. Being your Wife/Husband they are the most loyal companion you could have. So im looking to make a mod that shows triumph by love. Say you and your spouse are in serious trouble and are outnumbered 20/2 and you have have 0 health potions left and no stamina to fight. Your health is depleting very quickly! what if - upon death your character doesn't die right away, but instead given a short time after losing all your health to choose from a menu that pops up with 2 options - #1 - Death do us part (accept defeat) #2 - In Sickness and in health (half of your spouses health is removed and given to you) so that you may stand back up and try to finish the fight. this should also happen if your spouse were to fall IE.. you get the menu but its referring to your spouse, so you can give up half of your hp to them and hope to finish the fight together. This mod will add huge positives to being married other then a small some of gold and a meal lol. it adds someone you can rely on and someone who will literally risk their lives to save you and you them. - QUICK NOTE Obviously this mod is intended for Unessential NPCs that will die when they hit 0 and be gone from the game. NOT for essential who keep getting up... that's kind of the whole idea behind it.. but i have NO idea where to start or how. so im here asking Skyrim nexus for pointers and help. Thank You for taking the time to read my WALL 'O' TEXT =D will be watching this like a hawk.
tg08096
I was going to say that this seems like it would be a whole lot of work for something that could be called a "small mod that seems pointless but isn't." While I can see the RP value in this, it is my belief that most players opt to make their followers, especially spouses, essential, so the idea of this being geared toward nonessential npcs would reduce the amount of interest you will get from an already "niche" mod. But then I thought I'd make a suggestion instead: What if instead of transferring hps between spouse and pc, the two could "share" a hp pool, so everytime your spouse takes damage, it affects the player as well. If the hp of this "combined pool" reach zero, you both die? You could also do this with stamina and magicka if you like, and being essential or not wont matter because if one dies, both die. This would accomplish the goal of RP value, since the player WILL have to take extra precautions to preserve the spouse. There's no menu, so all you need is a script that sets the spouses hp to equal yours, and makes it so everytime one takes damage, so does the other. Unfortunately, I am no scripter and have no idea how to do this. You're probably going to have to put this on the backburner honestly, and start with some smaller stuff and work your way up. Good luck to you and thanks for the read.
