I have a some major problems with "Lights FX","DummyItems&

Hello,

So I've been working on my first mod ever for some time now, its kinda big.

Anyhow I keep running into the same problems over and over again!

 

~~Problem 1:

The lights FX, I add it & it works perfectly however in the Creation kit when I change the angle of view ( If i look at it from the side or top) the light goes off :/ , thought its not a problem but the same thing happens in-game, unless the player looks at the floor the lights wont work.

~~Problem 2

The Dummy items problem is simply that I cant get them to show in-game no matter what I do

~~Problem 3

invisible objects !, this doesn't happen often but it does happen every now and then and its extremely annoying and they only show if I double click them to open the menu.

This is the disappearing wall:

~~Problem 4

This god damn staircase keeps disappearing ! and unlike the previous problem .. it shows in the creation kit & simply vanishes in game.

I can see it in the Creation Kit, but in-game its not there, not invisible, no its not there i can't walk on it.

For #2 be sure you selected an appropriate dummy list to actually generate an object. For more explanation go Here

 

For #3, that is simply happens in the creation kit, if you played the game it should appear fine. I am not sure why(I believe it has something to do with allowing the kit to run faster by making it disappear for a short time) But if you move the camera a certain way it will reappear.

Thank you FalloutBeast. All I need to fix now is the 4th problem ! :/

 

To help anyone who is facing the same problems,

 

~~Problem 1: SOLUTION

 

Simply hit "L" in the Render Window to see the light radius, then

-Right Click anywhere in the Render Window

-Choose "Render Window Properties"

-Go to "Shaders" tab and tick the " # of lights "

The map or area will turn into colors, places colored red means the place has too many lights and they wont work properly, green means no lights, blue and purple..etc are fine

 

~~Problem 2: SOLUTION

No freaking idea, it started working by itself.

For #3, if you click (once) where you know the object to be and press "1" 3 times (First time mekes it semi-transparent, second time makes it invisible, third time makes it visable again).

 

I think that the CK is, for some reason, setting some large objects in the render window to culled from view by default. For me it mostly happens with cliff pieces.

 

Incedentally you could bandbox select a load of stuff and press "1" 3 times too.
