Hi. I'm a big fan of the game, and I love using people's mods that add onto the gameplay to give the world more variety. I've finally decided to give it a shot, and this is a pretty big project. I've experimented around and have learned how to texture and model well, and I thought, why not a new region!

I'm creating an entire world, the land of Ornas Isles! Read on for more info on the arcane wizard's haven.

---------------------STORY---------------------------

Thousands of years ago, a mage of great power lived in Tamriel. His name was Delmont Ornas, and he had untold power. He was able to tap into the magical energies that ran through the stones and sands of earth, and could use the power to create many things. He could craft gems from granite, and could even bring life to clay.

When he was in his prime, he had been learning the ancient school of arcane magicks, and he was well-versed in the ways of extracting life force, or Qi, from the earth. Using his knowledge, he sucked all of the Qi from an entire small island to grant himself a much more extensive lifetime. With this time, he slowly mastered the ways of his arcane spellcraft.

As time wore on, the mage felt his youth finally slipping from him, 500 years after he had drank the power from Mother Earth, so he needed to find somewhere to rest.

Over the years, he had acquired many rare artifacts, and had even enchanted some equipment, giving the wearer or wielder power never before seen. Among these was his Arcane Staff, which was only known in legend by those who had claimed to see him on his travels. There were also his robes, and his two golems' apparatus.

The golems were his personal guardians, and he gave them both suits of grand armor, and a finely crafted bow to one, and a sword and shield to the other. Though he rests in his lost tomb, the golems stand forever at watch, waiting for someone to follow the clues and uncover the grave of Delmont Ornas.

Since he had not found a suitable place to lay and leave the world behind, he had only one other option, to create the place himself. It took him many years, but he slowly made an entire island to live in for his remaining life. As he was watching over the creatures, seeing them all so content, He knew he had forgotten something.

He was so lonely, that he created a portal to Tamriel and entered. He went to a town and while everyone slept, he tore it from the ground and took it back through the portal with him. All of the people woke up in a pile of ruin, as their houses were smashed from falling out of the sky. The impact created a large crater that the town is now nestled in, and it is called Uzkhar. The adept mage showed them how to craft weapons from the ore that he made on the island, and showed them how to use mud to make buildings.

Finally, he was so weak, that he could barely walk without the support of his staff. The people treated him well, but he knew he couldn't trust the greed of man to watch over his items. Without warning, he took the town's only boat that they had just finished building with their only wood, and sailed out of sight from the town, and began to raise the earth.

He formed a large plateau, and atop it, a crypt made of gleaming white stone. He and his golems carved halls deep into the Earth, and he finally decided to rest. His golems wait for visitors....

Can you solve the mystery of Delmont Ornas's hidden tomb? Can you recover his legendary items? Talk to the townspeople of Uzkhar and Noskhar to find out!

Still working on adding more to the plot and storyline, as this would increase the realism of the area, and many quests will be made.

-------------------------------------HELP------------------------------------------

It'd be good to get a mod team started so that we could all work on this and produce a really great mod. I need people to help me make textures for the landscapes, creatures, armors and weapons. I'm not very good at textures. Also, since a lot of models will be involved, I will work a lot on models, though it would be great if people could help me out with making architecture and scenery; weapons, armor and creatures, too.

If you are interested and would like to contact me, please PM me, reply to this, or contact me on AIM, or MSN.

Any questions- Reply to this thread, and I'll gladly answer.

Any ideas- Reply to this thread, and I'd love that. Those would be great.

I completely appreciate any help that I get. Since I'm not very experienced at any sort of modding, all help would be teaching me a lot. Go easy on the critisizm and thanks for reading.

Hello. I am a beginning Elder Scrolls modder myself though I've been reading tutorials and attempting things for awhile now. I have also started a huge project(the prepartation part) that appears to be to much for only me to handle. I've almost decided to just come up with some small ideas to start out with and complete to give me more confidence in ever learniing everything that needs to be learned to make a huge mod. I should either do that or get a team together for it. I have also been thinking about joining another project and helping them to help me learn more. I came upon your post and thought it was interesting. But, to be honest, I don't have a lot of experience with programs such as Photoshop and Blender(I am currently trying to learn them). I have used the two Elder Scrolls Construction Sets some(Morrowind and Oblvion). I would say I know more about modding in Morrowind than Oblivion(though that is a small amount and from what I've seen they are similar). Reading your last post which stated that you had to change the storyline because it was too much trouble to make the entire desert in the worldspace, I was wondering if you were meaning that it wasn't possible(because I don't know if the Oblivion editor works like Morrowinds or not) or if you just felt it was to big of a project? I had been wondering if you had to work with the land that is already made for Oblivion or if you could add onto it. I know in Morrowind you could add land out in the ocean but for Oblvion I haven't messed around with it to find out how it works.

For the mod I want to make I have some story made and a small section of landscape still being worked on. I have been drawing out some maps that are incomplete. I find it easier to think up ideas and write them down than actually completing them with the tools needed. :) I still want to learn them and make a mod. I am just having a hard time with it. So, basically I'm in the same situation you are(at least sort of). I'm not sure how much help I would be. I am willing to work with almost anyone to try and learn all this stuff though.

Best of luck.

Thanks a lot for offering your help, and I'm sure I'll need it with something. About what you said with it being included in the worldspace, I was going to replace the area where Valenwood and Elsweyr are with a giant desert. That was far too much work, and taking the time to open up all of the files was so much, and the construction set was even more prone to crash with so much going on. Creating a brand new worldspace is just so much easier, because I can start from scratch. I haven't worked on it much lately, but I'll be sure to update this thread when I do.

There isn't much call for extreme help yet, considering I haven't started to add quests, NPC's, items and creatures. I'm still figuring out the bounding boxes for rocks. For some reason, all custom rocks i've created were retex's of vanilla rocks, though a few were custom. But the problem is, when I open up the vanilla ones, they don't include a bounding box, so i assumed they wouldn't need one. However, when I imported them in the game, the textures were black and i fell straight through the rocks and they didn't do anything. Can anyone help with that?

Thanks for reading, and thanks even more if you reply :)
