stebbinsd
I had to do a clean install to get rid of some malware. I have been trying to reinstall Oblivion all day now. I know I have to reinstall the game after a clean install because that's just the way it works. So I uninstalled the game and installed it again. But when I try to launch the game, I get this message: https://s22.postimg.cc/9bh8h8h5d/Failed_to_Initialize_Renderer.png How do I fix this? MisterMicro
Hi! Are you running Oblivion through Steam? There are a lot of technical issues with that game already, let alone while trying to mod. If its through steam I highly recommend instead of a (right-click > uninstall) Try to open the game files by either going through (Steamapps > Common > Oblivion) then highlight everything, EVERYTHING in the folder, right click > delete. THEN go to (My computer > Documents > My games > Oblivion) and delete that folder. THEN migrate to your steam library and do a (right click > properties > local files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache) this will ensure all dirty files are purged, cleaned, and retrieved. After all files are retrieved try launching the game through the launcher as administrator directly in the Oblivion folder in the file-path mentioned above. if that still doesn't work try bypassing the launcher and just launch the game in the same location with the .exe file. MisterMicro
I should also mention if you have any save files to retrieve them from the My games in the documents folder before deleting those

No, I'm running a disc version. Edited August 31, 2018 by stebbinsd
