ddurga
And don't tell people they've installed things wrong, I've installed FNIS and modded skyrim SE and oldrim tens of times before this, it's not only you that knows what they are doing. And what do YOU tell us? Installed FNIS and so on tens of times, and still don't understand what it means when "Generator" path and "Expected generator path" are different? There are hundreds of people who failed dozens of ways before you. Although most of the times it turns out to be bad installation of FNIS. Like in your case. But without detailed data I have one problem: my crystal ball is out of order. Now I see much clearer: you didn't set "Target" and/or "Start in" properly when configuring FNIS in Vortex. Yeah, you win, you are the best, you are better, I'll be forever in your debt yaddayadda.. Now please move away with your edges and simmer on your own somewhere far from me. starship
Hi all, i had the same little problem while using "Vortex". Just run the generator from "...steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\" and you should be fine. My Vortex was running it from the download cache path instead, and voila: wrong path. Thanks @fore for pointing in the right direction. Even after reading the installation instruction several times, it was not that clear for me at first, but now it makes sense to me of course. :-) hth regards
Yopul
For anyone looking for the solution to this problem in the future. If you get this message (>>Warning: Bad installation. Generator not run from <Skyrim_Data>\Tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users. If you use a mod manager, run FNIS from its list of supported tools.<<) Then the path to FNIS isn't set up. Since most people will use Vortex, you just have to go to the dashboard, Fores New Idles in Skyrim. Set the target for FNIS to (Q:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users) The (Q) at the start is my drive, just in case someone doesn't know. Notice the \Data\Tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users. Data and tools is where you want to be, don't set the target to anything else. Don't set the target up to the Q:\Vortex Mods\skyrimse\FNIS. This is what brings up the warning.
