AVerySillySausage Posted September 1, 2018 Share Posted September 1, 2018 It would be great if somebody can either make this mod or at leat point to the direct tutorial that will allow me to do it myself, it should be really basic. I would like a mod that removes the scope from the La Longue Carabine that is compatible with WMX, the WMX part is key.The scope is just annoying, I want to use a unique version of the cowboy repeater, not another sniper rifle, I feel like the game has enough snipers already. There actually was a mod that did remove the scope but it wasn't compatible with WMX and it changed the texture in a way I didn't like, it was higher res but looked a bit cheap and didn't fit in with the game well. It seems this mod was deleted anyway and I have no idea who the author was. It would be best if it was done in a similar way to the "cowboy repeater without peep sight" mod. All this does is remove the annoying peep sight without touching the mesh or editing the weapon in any other way, it's still able to use WMX mods. You won't be able to do it solely through nifskope since the scope isn't a separate mesh. I haven't looked at WMX's take on the La Longue specifically, but it creates new models and I can't work on those without antistar's permission (or the esp). I already messaged the author of that mod but he hasn't made a mod since 2010.I'm pretty sure from the pics it *does* edit the mesh to remove the peep sight (although that one can be done in nifskope since it's a separate mesh/material) and it doesn't actually have a scope on the weapon form (no "has scope", no target nif). I took the scope off and deselected the scope in geck but I can't do anything to WMX without permission. Make sure to put the nif in it's appropriate folder (XXX\Fallout New Vegas\Data\meshes\weapons\2handrifle where XXX is your steam game directory, usually c:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\) and rename it to cowboyrepeaterunique.nif. You can try PMing AntiStar and getting permission then someone else can work on it for you, otherwise you'll have to do it yourself. If you go the DIY route, once you become familiar with blender remove the scope in each instance of the La Longue's models in WMX and deselect the scope tick box on the art and sound tab of the weapon's form. This is assuming it (WMX) has different models, which it probably does or you wouldn't have the compatibility issues with WMX and the La Longue you mentioned above.
