punkBlood
Hey, not sure if this is possible.. but I thought I'd ask anyways.. I want to play Fallout 3 on my PC with an Xbox One Controller. Problem is, I also want the sprint mod. The only way to get that to properly work is to use XPadder or Joy2Key or something. However, when you use that method you basically have to disable controller support and make your own (which doesnt work alot of the time because the game thinks youre using a keyboard and mouse such as in menus and the like). I thought a good workaround to this would be to somehow get the game to recognize the "Grab" and "Interact" functions as one key "A" (ala new fallout and skyrim).... so that you can bind the new open key to that of the sprint mod. I have absolutely no idea how to do this and would like any help. (or just confirmation that it cant be done) TLDR; Want to use controller.. Dont know how to combine grab and interact into one button so I have a free one to use for sprinting.
punkBlood
OK, So it turns out after some research (prolly should have done so before posting sorry about that), you CAN change the "A" button to be both functions by going into FalloutPrefs.ini and making them the same... Doesn't really do much though when the multiple functions (Grab and interact) conflict with each other. It's not like Skyrim or Fallout 4. In Fallout 3 if you make them the same button, every time you interact with an item it also picks it up... I was hoping it would be a "Hold" button type thing like it is with skyrim and f04. Follow up question:Can I just get Fallout 3 to recognize both the Keyboard and Mouse, and the controller settings at the same time? Because that way I can just use xPadder to make LB Shift... Currently it seems whenever you have the controller on, the keyboard and mouse settings are disabled.
