Horizon for Fallout 4 - Is cannibal viable for survival?

I've been playing with horizon for about 80 hours now with all the hardcore mods I could find (detection distance increase, levelled npcs, damage rework, etc.)

 

I'm only level 21 (I've deliberately capped my xp gain to give myself a longer and harder game) and i'm wondering, is cannibal viable for horizon survival?

 

I would like to create a cannibal raider character, but I don't want to sink time into a character that doesn't work

 

For anyone who's played horizon, could you please let me know of your experiences?
