Question about ENB and settings

@paolo11z, hi, i guess the primary difference between skyrim's display settings 'low, medium, high, and ultra' is the

amount of detail level you want displayed; which, directly impacts quality vs performance depending on your gaming rig.

This includes textures and shadows at all distances and maybe animation.

ENB mods are basically adjustable plugin visual effects added as post-processing to the rendering of your chosen level of detail.

So in other words, generally speaking, ENB effects would render more detail on ultra than using high lol.

On the other hand, many people do not really notice the subtle differences between ultra and very high settings.

HD texture mods also play a big factor and especially INI settings tweaks; specifically, enbseries.ini, skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini.

How your GPU game program profile and global features are configured also affect fine tuning ENB final results.

Here is an old low thru ultra vanilla game visual comparison if your interested, you have to look closely to see the differences lol.

@paolo11z, hi, dunno which or how many ENB or other visual effects mods you're planning to install, probably best

picking a popular one and experimenting with its features and if you're just looking for a quick fix maybe try pre-made profiles.

Always read the modder's comments sections for feedback and tips.

You can start by browsing around here i guess (suggest sorting by endorsements): http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/searchresults/?cat=62

Be aware, some of these can cause issues so be prepared to rollback any changes you make to Skyrim

(backup your game folders as a contingency).

Also remember, there is the new patch version 1.6x coming soon which might disable certain mods.

ENB/effects stuff can be difficult to get configured to your preferences for all Skyrim environments and its not just just about the

mod's settings, you'll want to look into all the INI and GPU feature settings too, expect a learning curve, what a pain! enjoy..

Simply dialing down your graphics setting from ultra to high and assuming you'll maintain 60fps everywhere using ENB, well, hope it works lol.

There are all kinds of HD texture mods available (including the official HD Texture DLC) for just about every object in Skyrim and

yes I advise installing them regardless if you're running Skyrim with or without ENB/visual effects, Skyrim looks much better/immersive.

Be picky about which ones you like and use because you'll probably pay a performance penalty with transition loading/lag if

your GPU is weak or has less than 1.5 GB VRAM.

Not all HD texture mods are the same so shop around, i usually extract the BSA archives and install only the parts i want as loose files.
