Watermelon911
So I am curious if anyone might know how to fix this.I have 2 mods installed that I have used along time ago.Gray Wardon Shields and Ring of AncientsBoth have worked fine when I added them while I had a character already made along time ago, however I made a new char and they will not load, the rings normally spawn in the inventory and the shields should be in the shop at camp. Any idea why they won't load or how to fix, maybe a console command? (unlikely)
Thandal
This was been happening since the 1.03 patch. The work-around is to disable the mod until after a newly created character is completely finished: folder/fire structure complete and you've played far enough to make your first save. Once you've done that, exit the game, re-enable the mod, then re-load your save. Item should now be in your inventory.
Watermelon911
Thank you, As I mentioned they worked when I first used them over a year ago but that was with char that was already made. Really sucks how it only effects new chars they should have really of fixed that. Edited June 10, 2012 by Watermelon911
Thandal
Well, two points aboiut "they should have really fix that": 1) BioWare is under no obligation to "fix" something that isn't broken in the vanilla game. If mods work, great. If they don't, modders need to figure out the issue and correct it. 2) I don't think any BioWare resources are going to be dedicated to "fixing" anything at all with DA:O. It's been over three years since the original code went gold, (never mind the delay in order to sync the release with the XBox and PS3 verisons.) And the last patch (1.05, over six months ago) was only to address authorization issues, and some peculiar video card problem that a significant number of people (including me) were experiencing that made the game unplayable. Watermelon911
I never said they was obligated to do anything and the last patch was released god knows how long ago, Just wondering why they did not correct back then when they was actively working on DAO.No big deal I'm not complaining just awkward to know that the mods won't work on chars you already made if the mods was active during char creation.
