ModdersResources
How do I install SKSE64?Since there's no automatic installer, a manual installation is required. Which directory do I extract the files to? Has SKSE64 been updated yet? Edited September 9, 2018 by BBTBBN
popvirus2
go to http://skse.silverlock.org/ download the zip file for the version of the game you are playing (skyrim, skyrim se, etc) to a folder of your choice (I created a folder on my D drive called SKSE64 and have subfolders with each new version...those folders are where I extract the zip file....and when you do, these instructions will show up...you need to read the readme...for convenience, here is the information copied from the Skyrim SE ( Current SE build 2.0.8 (runtime 1.5.50): 7z archive). sorry about the font...that link will take you to it if you don't already know where to find it...here is a snipit copied from the readme file. [ Installation ] 1. Copy the .dll and .exe files to your Skyrim SE directory. This is usually in your Program Files folder under Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\. If you see files named SkyrimSE and SkyrimSELauncher, this is the correct folder. Do not copy these files to the Data folder as with a normal mod. The "src" folder is only useful for programmers, most users can ignore it. 2. Copy the .pex files in Data\Scripts\ into the Data\Scripts\ folder of your installation. The .pex files are needed by all users of SKSE. 3. If you create mods, copy the .psc files in Data\Scripts\Source\ into the Data\Scripts\Source\ folder of your installation. The .psc files are only needed if you have the CreationKit installed and intend to create or compile Papyrus scripts. Make sure to add them to your include path. 4. Run skse64_loader.exe to launch the game. pops

Deleted3897072User
Nothing, unless you are a C programmer and are planning to build your own SKSE plugins.

w1ixi
Question on vortex-skse. If I load vortex and click on sksei tthen have to login into steam. Is there a way around this ?
shumkar
Login into Steam is required for running Skyrim regardless of SKSE. Launching Vortex is not required for running Skyrim, and I recommend to launch Skyrim (or SKSE) not from Vortex, but directly, from desktop.
