[WIP]Realswords Retextures

So because I've started work again on retexturing the Nord Realswords Port (Found Here) I thought I'd make a thread to show my work, get feedback, and once I get started on the rest of the swords, show my progress as I attack them.

So, without further ado, here's the first one I've completed:

So far, the plan is:

Beserker ~ v2 Done

Atmorian ~ v2 Done

Gotland Swords ~ v2 Done

Norland ~ V2 Done

Cawood Swords ~ Done

Naegling ~ Done, but model warps the texture and I don't feel like fixing it. Already went through that game with Mjolnir so I'm not bothering. It looks okay but its far from perfect.

Warp - Done

Gramr - Done

Daggers, Bows, Axes (in whatever order I end up feeling like doing them in)

Did the Atmorian. Work went fast on this one as the original texture was actually very good. Hell, just uprezing and sharpening produced a fairly good result.

At this point, I'm not -that- happy with it, and I will probably come back to it but for now this is good.

And don't let the crappy screenies fool you, the sword looks great in-game (and out of the inventory view, which makes the sword very ugly for some reason).

I like it when people make new weapons that closely resemble the quality of vanilla weapons. That way they ted to fit into the game better ^.^

When people make armors and they texture every fiber so sharp that it overpowers the quality of every other armor in the game it's kinda awkward. Same thing applies to weapons in my opinion. O.o

well on the whole not too bad :) although not keen on the whole cracked effect of the atmorian crown looks like it would shatter when you hit someone xD....and that new gotland scabbard is pretty funky too although too bland colouring, i'd make it have a bit more contrast between the different parts, and a stronger normal map...but that engraved bit looks really cool :D.....and the bronze part of the gotland should be less saturated....the beserker is pretty cool, but personally im really not keen on that marbling effect, i hated it on the original and im sorry to say its not much better on yours, but hey your tweaks have made it a lot more tolerable :P....but personally i'd do away with it :)

but all in all not too bad at all :)...make sure you get permissions to upload these retextures :)...also the blood groove on the atmorian crown is really good, but on the other weapons its not so good, if possible i'd also make a similar blood groove texture for the other ones too :)

Yes the old atmorian and the gotland scabbard are indeed funky, and I totally intend on revisiting them before release. And I agree on the bronze gotland, I've been using the sword in-game and it actually looks more gold than bronze so that'll get touched up when I redo the scabbard. And yes, I've been having trouble doing the fullers (which is what they're called, not blood groves. Just some friendly edumacation) up really nicely so I'll probably revisit them once I can get it down.

As for the beserker, I imagine your'e talking about the swirly looking stuff going up the middle of the blade? That's supposed to represent folded steel (with the edges of the sword being either too rough or too polished to have the folding patterns show) like in this sword:

I'll probably screw with it some more, but when I had originally started these retextures, shin (the author of the RS port) said he wanted them to remain full remakes of the originals, so I'm sticking by that for now. But obviously I've gone ahead and made some steel variants of weapons that didn't have them so I'll probably make a variant of the beserker without the folded steel on it.

Oh and just so you guys know what I'm going to do with Cawood (which I'm about to start), I'm going to base it off of this sword:

As that is clearly the most fantastic looking rendition of Cawood ever made in real life. Obviously I'll put my own spin on the sword (So I'm not stealing artwork but merely being inspired by it)and such.
