dragonslayer2k12
There is always a thread like this for many games that are on pc and consoles. The truth as I like to think of it is, pc is the best gaming device for certain games for the consumer but console is the best gaming device for developers. The pc forces the user to think first and do second. The user can't play the game until they install the game. The user can't get the correct settings in the game until they go to the options menu and set all the detailed options like vsync and resolution which require thinking like what kind of monitor does the user have and what is the max resolution of their monitor? Thinking is good for the consumer but bad for the developer because thinking and asking questions leads to improving intelligence and learning. It also eventually leads to asking the question of why does the game cost so much? Why are DLC made instead of just putting them in the game in the first place and other popular questions. The majority of people in the world are not smart, they are ok but they are not geniuses. A minority of people in the world are really smart and an even smaller minority are actual genius types. As pc users we are not the smartest but we are smart enough to ask questions and we have arguments with developers that will never end. Console users are the vast majority, they don't want to think and they just want to play a game and then go buy another game and play that game. They don't ask why they just play and they don't like people that ask why this and why that at least in my personal experience this has been the case. Console users don't have to be smart to play a game, everything is already set, controls are already programmed. Just pick up and play the game who cares if you finish it or not. The most money to be made is in the console market because you guessed it, the majority of the world that is interested in gaming uses consoles of some kind. Home consoles, handheld consoles, cell phones ugh..... ipad too. It is easier to make money from people that don't ask why and won't want to be challenged to think why this and why that. PC gamers complain because they have specific needs and the PC platform is best suited to handle some games and of course piracy makes PC gamers unwanted as customers by developers. Devs are gonna go where the money is, the money is in the majority where nobody asks questions they just hand over money on a regular basis. Now if consoles get more complicated then the home console crowd will start to ask why and start to think because at some point in time the more complicated a console gets, the more expensive it gets. There seems to be something related to people that spend more money on electronics to what they do with them aka think about why this and that aka pc users. So if the industry allows consoles to get too good and good will only come from more complicated, they will start the ball rolling down the hill of losing their money because less of the gaming majority will buy home consoles after a while and they will move to casual games like ipad and cell phone ugh! and hand held. None of the players in this scenario can have their cake and eat it too. There is a constant struggle of one side to get their way against the other, either the pc gamer gets the quality they expect for their money or the console gamer gets the quantity of games they want to buy or the industry gets the greedy rewards they think they deserve. It is not a crime to make a profit but it should be some kind of shame to be greedy.
Katiemw
I think Skyrim is best on PC, actually. We have mods, quicksaving, and it seems less glitchy.
