Hey Guys, I've been looking for a Skyrim Community for a while now, and have now found one with a lot of potential and liability. I was wondering if i start a series on youtube "Skyrim - Road To 70" If any of you would be interested in it ? I'm a beggining commentator but would love to go far with gaming and commentating, And I Was just wondering if you guys would enjoy a series like that ? It's not only straight leveling. It involves, Side Quests, Boss Quests, Guilding, Clearing out every Cave/Mine/Castle, in the game, and I wanted to know if i should start this instead of starting this and just wasting my time for no one to watch it, so can you please give me feedback and tell me what you thank, it is very much appreciated.

There's a lot of Skyrim lets Plays going on, to be "popular" it has to be unique and entertaining.

Using large mods/doing something other than vanilla stuff (everyone has seen already)

If you go 20+ videos with less than 200-300 views, it's not bad, that's just YouTube.

Somebody will watch it. But if your hoping for thousands of views then you will probably be disappointed. It may be that your vids are very good, but there is a lot of saturation of skyrim videos, hard niche to break into maybe. Luck, timing, promotion, advertising, quality, skill,, all will play a role. Statistically though, only a small percentage of skyrim videos will ever get a lot of views.

I did a lot of Fallout 3/NV videos. It was just for the sake of doing them, I didn't really care if anyone watched them and I've never turned on advertising on the account. Something I noticed is that regular gameplay videos didn't get many views, but short videos of unique experiences did, as did videos showing how to do something that confuses people.

Videos showing off mods: Most have thousands of views

Video showing how to set off the gas in the jungle vault in New Vegas without dying horribly: Currently 37,000+

Video of me goofing off with weapons from Gun Runners Arsenal by destroying Caesar's Fort: Currently 115,000+ views and I have no idea why so popular

Videos of typical gameplay of Fallout 3 (a complete game from birth to blowing up the Enclave Airforce base): Most have less than 100 views. Granted, Fallout 3 is an older game, so a complete set of New Vegas videos probably would have done a little better, but probably still would have been less than the others.

If you know who SSoHPKC is, he does a lot of LPs of straight gameplay of practically every game currently in existence. His thing is, he's kind of an idiot and is just plain bad at playing games, but his commentary is hilarious, so he gets a ton of views.

Stay true to roleplaying, develop a personality for your character and only do what he would do, treat the people & world as if it was real, you dont have to do stupid annoying things like talk medieval or stuff like that (see Nagidal for guidelines), do that and it becomes interesting, otherwise theres no reason at all to watch generic gameplay that most of us already know (imo). I will never watch anyone play a game, id rather watch it myself. I sometimes watch streams (randomly) because then at least you can interact without just watching someone else gaming..

I watch modding videos and funny ones etc but the let's plays are pointless to me unless they were using my mod or something i guess.
