hi, like the title says, i want a good level increase mod and to be honest i found enough but i just am not sure, which mod(s) i should use, and in which order i have to install them because i see people have some issues with some of those mods. so i want to ask you guys what i have to do.

i am currently level 19 i think, i have a goty version and i have these mods installed: apocalypse armory, weapon mod kits, some armor mods and some other small things like a tent and backpacks.

level 50 or 100 cap would be nice.

thx and greets!

Frank0815 - Hello!

I use Max Level 99, Skill Workaround, Ultimate Perks & Wasteland Mastery.

I use the extra perks packages because with the increased skill cap you need more perks to choose from.

I've used that combination for ages without issue.

I also have the GOTY as you & use Apocalypse Armory & many more mods too.

Max Level 99:

I use the Max Level 99 V2 version with added perks but there's also a version without extra perks too.

Level Cap Increaser Skill Workaround:

http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/165

A tiny one file fix that allows skills to be increased above 100 (preventing you getting stuck on the skills page if you max out your skills due to the increased level cap).

Your skills are not shown above 100 but that seems to be an engine limitation as I've never seen anthying fix that satisfactorily.

These next two perk mods are optional if you just want the level cap increase but they blend in well & fill out the choices available with an increased level cap.

Ultimate Perks:

http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/1409

Ultimate Perks is split into various packs to allow you to choose what to use & not.

Wasteland Mastery

http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/2045

Ignore where it says it needs Level Cap Increaser, useing the above mentioned Max Level 99 bypasses that.

I made an FOMM pack of all these (Max Level 99, Skill Workaround, Ultimate Perks & Wasteland Mastery) for ease of installation.

Hope this helps!

thx prensa, this definitly helps, but to get this right:

i don't understand "I made an FOMM pack of all these (Max Level 99, Skill Workaround, Ultimate Perks & Wasteland Mastery) for ease of installation." (my english isn't perfect, sry)

so i would download all 4 files with the nexus mod manager which i use, then make the changes with the fo3edit and then it works?

That just means I unpacked those mods, combined them into a folder & installed them with FOMM. That way they can be uninstalled with the press of a button.

There's no need to do that other than convenience. :)

"so i would download all 4 files with the nexus mod manager which i use, then make the changes with the fo3edit and then it works? "

No need to make any changes with FO3Edit, unless you wanted to lower Max Level 99's level cap.

You just install them & are ready to go.

I've never used NMM, but it should be simillar to FOMM.

If you have any trouble installing with NMM you can install them manually very simply.

If you use all 4 of those mods & unpack them, you should end up with two folders:

menus

textures

& several .esp's:

Max Level 99.esp

Several "UPP -" esp's depending on what you chose to use.

WastelandMastery.esp

All of that should end up inside your:

Fallout 3\Data

Make sure the .esp's are ticked in NMM.

Simple as that. :)

Hope this helps!

i'm a little confused to be honest but i think i'll use these only:

Max Level 99

Level Cap Increaser Skill Workaround

and it's correct that i can download and install them with nmm like all the other mods right? because that's the easiest way for me i think.

If I may, no highjack intended......

I believe what you also can do by combining those new mods into a "new folder", then.... copy and paste everything in the new folder into the fallout/data folder and hit "yes" to overwrite or replace exsisting files when prompted. Or hold ctrl and click yes once.

Then just rename the new folder, level mods extracted or something and save it to a thumb drive.

I do this for a lot of mods and some folders get big with all the extracted files but with thumb drives cheap like they are now, just have a couple 16 gb'rs just for your game mods and a clean backup of the fallout folder for re-install ease :)
