Skyrim crashes at Splash screen

Hi there,

This if my first post on skyrim and may hope to post more once i start knowing a bit more about the game. I am quite a bit fear of spiders therefore the mods is a good idea, hence why i got the pc version and now the xbox 360 version. Basically when i load up the launcher menu, data files, tick the mod (bear or mud crab) load loose files, it launches the first bit then attempts to launch the second icon you see the skyrim one then crashes out. No errors, no nothing. So i tried running without saying load loose files, same things happening. So i unticked the box for the mod and it then worked. So i thought it might of been the mod, downloaded another mod for the bear one this time and then the same thing happens. It crashes? Can anyone help? Why would it crash and not even get me to the actual gameplay menu? The mods are designed for the game so it's not as if it's a random thing from a random website?

Any help would be great.

Cheers

Try some completely different random mods and see if the game crashes or not. If any of the mod works, then either the previous mods were bad or you didn't install all the asset files to the correct folders.

Hi mate,

Thanks for that.. well i went and downloaded that jaws one and it worked fine with that but as soon as i put the spider one back on it fails and wont load. I tried the original spider mod and that didn't work either...? Any other suggestions? What can i do now, now that i know the game is working with mods just not the mods i want. I'm using the download manager and loading loose files.

Cheers

Then it means that those particular mods are broken and won't work with the latest version of Skyrim. Try contacting the modder or leave a comment on their mod page, maybe they'll try to fix it. Cheers.
