Installing SSE Rayek's End on NMM, I get "illegal characters in path"

When I try to install the main file of Rayek's End on the Nexus Mod Manager, the installation always fails around the 56% mark. The error says:

A problem occurred during install:

Illegal characters in path.

Illegal characters in path.

The mod was not installed

How do I fix this? This is the mod's location:

C:\Users\Mason\Documents\Nexus Mod Data\SkyrimSE\Mods\Rayek's End - SSE Expanded Edition 1.7-8285-1-7.zip

my guess , remove the ' from the name . so make Rayek's End into Rayeks End , that should fix the issue , at least if I understand the issue correctly

Did not work.

I even tried changing the zip file's name to just "Rayeks End". Nothing.

I verified SSE on Steam. Nothing.

does it only occur when installing this specific mod? or did it happen when you tried installing other mods?

have you been able to install any mods since this issue began?

have you made any changes regarding NMM before the issue began? anything that you can think of , that may have caused this?

I did some searching online , and all I could find is related to profile names within NMM having illegal characters

but since we can't tell if you have created a profile within NMM and how you've named it , it's hard to tell

you should try doing some research online , maybe you'll find something more relevant (I did a short search , there could be more info if you keep on it)

on a side note , if this only happens when installing this specific mod , you could just go around it by manually installing this mod

not the best option , but until you get an answer that's one way to still use the mod

Yes, the error only occurs when I try to install this specific mod.

Installing other mods before/after this error occurred has never been an issue.

I started installing mods with the newest NMM version from a newly bought SSE.

The error occurs when I choose the NMM installation of the main file (without changing any filenames).

It occurs after changing the filename as well as when I manually install (without changing any filenames).
