CaprineSun
I have been playing the mod FROST for a long time now and i'm absolutely in love with how realistic it feels. Radiation, hunger, thirst, disease, bullets, and melee are all deadly for both sides; and food / ammo is scarce (enemies actually use the ammo in their inventory!). I love it! The only downside to this mod is that after awhile of just surviving i can become quite bored. I was interested in finding out ways to implement the realistic feeling of FROST into the base game so that i can enjoy the story along side the superior game mechanics. Does anyone know the steps necessary to make that happen? I would do this myself if i knew what values to change.
WastelandAssassin
since (as far as I know) most of what the mod does is editing existing settings (like changing items , instead of making new ones) , you should be able to use xEdit (or FO4Edit , same thing different name) to copy the changes you want without the restsimply open the plugin , find the entries you want , right click and choose copy as new entry (it's important to use this instead of copy as override , as you don't want to have FROST as a requirement) . first time you do this copy to a new plugin , give it a name as you wish . with future entries simply copy to that plugin . do this with all the entries you want , and you should have a copy of the mechanics from FROST that you can use on the vanilla game now , I'm not sure you can do everything this way , as I'm not sure you can handle quests and scripts this wayand I'm not too familiar with FROST and which parts of it you wish to use . but this method should let you take at least a large part of the changes from FROST and introduce them into the game on a side note , for anything related to leveled lists (enemies , loot etc) I'm pretty sure you can't use these as FROST probably changes spawn locations and what can spawn whereso for this you would either have to remake these leveled lists , or rely on another mod (there are plenty of mods meant to reduce loot , you could get one and edit it to fit the way FROST does this) I hope this answers the question , in that it at least gives you a basic understanding of the process

I'm a complete novice when it comes to modding so what you're suggesting will probably be better off in the hands of a skilled modder. I'll see what i can do, however. Best of luck!
