Throwing Stars: Why are they considered a blade?

Hi, I downloaded the throwing stars mod. Looks good, but for the one problem mentioned in this thread's title: they aren't considered a ranged weapon for marksmanship. Shouldn't all thrown weapons be considered such?

 

Darts, knives, axes, etc...anything that is considered a throwing weapon should be closely allied with ranged. Boomerangs would also be considered such.

 

Here's an idea for the eye candy lovers out there...thong slings. Pick up rocks and sling them. Damage based on strength and marksmanship.

The Throwing Stars description says...

Marksman skill is your primary throwing skill modifer and successful hits will count to level ups at a rate similar to that for arrows (but tracked separately).
