Request Family Mod

Anytime I play an rpg like Skyrim I always run into the same problem. I get board of looking at the same character after a while and I want to try something new. Starting over, however, is so tedious and I always end up with 7 or 8 character saves. While I do use the showracemenu consol command, I think that there can be a simple and easy way of changing characters in a game what would make it more interesting.

First of all, there should be a dialogue option with your spouse called "Let's have a baby" or something to that effect. After choosing that option, the next time you rest, there will be a child NPC in your house. The child is randomly selected as a boy or girl and if at all possible, he or she should be given a physical feature similar to your character such as eye color, hair color, or hair style.

In the second part of the mod, the child should have a dialogue option that says "Grow up." After selecting that option, the child should turn into an adult NPC with all the same stats as your the current character. Now if it is possible, there should be a dialogue option on the adult that says "Play as," or something like that and you become that NPC and make your old character an NPC. Why you switch characters, the racemenue could pop up so that you can customize the character to what you want. Changing the race to become that of your spouse, or of any race in skyrim if your character was unfaithful to his or her spouse, would be cool, although it changes your stats, would be cool. Also, reset the marriage status for the new Character so that you are not married to your parent. Or maybe just allow the new Character to marry another NPC because with I know with Ysolda, she just calls you "my love" which would be appropriate for a son or daughter.

Even having the option to choose who you would like to play as in your house, i.e. having multiple playable characters, would be interesting, but I don't know anything about scripting and I don't know if that is possible. Also, for added lifelikeness, the older NPC's can start to grow old and maybe even after a certain amount of time, cease to exist.

This would be a cool mod and if I could script, then I would make it myself. So if anyone is interested, leave a feedback and make it happen.

-Thanks

Doing the family is possible, it would actually not be that hard, same with replacing the child with an adult. The rest though, thats another thing, I dont think it is possible to make you play a npc in game.

I would be interested in doing a family mod, making you have a few kids and make them grow up, probably giving them activities to do with you and have them as follower but I dont have the skills to do the rest. Once I am done with my gambling dens side project, I might give it a shot.

I had been working on a Mod a little similar to that idea, and hope to pick up on it again soon. MY idea was to adopted a child from the orphanage in Riften, and then, passing down a specially enchanted weapon to your son/daughter, would change the features of the playable character to resemble an adult version of the adopted child. This way you don't require any control of NPC character, just simply reset Stats of playable character, and change name and appearance through scripting.

So if anyone else does aim to have a shot at this, I recommend going along the lines of changing the playable characters features and name and resetting stats; rather than wasting the hours (like I did) trying to work out how to control an NPC.

If I do continue this mod, (in the next few days or so), I will be sure to keep you updated.

Both of those sound really great!

Well if Redarrow is working on a mod like that, then I wont touch mine, I have quite a few projects lined up and still have to add content to my main mod so lets see how it goes.
