David Brasher
Weapon stats vary according to what character is play-testing the weapon. My guess would be that you play-tested with a rather high-level character. It is really frustrating, but Skyrim prices your magic items according to how strong of an enchantment is placed on them. In Skyrim's opinion, your custom enchantment is very powerful and very valuable. So what you can do is set the value of your sword to 1 gold. (Zero gold would make it so it is worthless clutter and no merchant will buy it.) The value of the enchantment is added to the number you key in. Then if your sword is still worth too many thousands of gold pieces, you might think about changing the enchantment to be weaker, or rigging a setup where the weapon cannot be sold or sold for a profit. Perraine
Have a look at the info on the UESP WikiEnchantingSmithing It goes through how the levels are calculated ... Having said that, Skyrim is majorly FUBAR'd when it come to these calculations because if you die and the game reloads from your last save, many times your weapon and armor stats will mysteriously and magically change, even if the save was only form 5 mins before you died!
