I found this out with our Vampirism Mod, but suspect this could be much more painful if you're doing custom race modding. Here are my posts about this:

Just a warning. I don't know if it affects custom races (such as Ashen) or only people customizing existing races but...

Well that probably explains my custom race mod issues. If I follow the official custom race tutorial, cloning a default race and editing it, the Race Morph setting won't work as it should (my race will have absolutely no hairs, eyes, eyebrows, etc available, not even default ones).

I don't see the problem, just made a cloned dark elf race this morning and all the brow, eye, hair options are working fine for me.

Body, hands, feet and armour all displaying properly too.
