Hey there, so i just started wanting to mod and really am a noob at doing so.

So i'm having this issue where i downloaded the mod and "installed" it, but as far as i learned is that when you do those basic things, it should pop-up at the plugins menu. But it aint there tho.*

Someone know what to do?

Thank you.

there are no plugins for that mod

all it does is replaces textures , therefore no plugin is needed

you should just open the downloaded archive , and see if it has any plugins in it

if it doesn't , it shouldn't show in the plugin list

Okey thank you for that. What exactly do you mean with download archive (location?)

NMM downloads a rar or 7z archive , which contains the mod

this is the file that you install

so you can go to the download folder for NMM and open the archive to look at it's contents

another feature that I'm pretty sure you can use (not 100% sure if it's a staff only feature or for all members) , is found on a mod's page

when you are in the files tab , beneath the download options you should see Preview File Contents

if you click on this , it will open a window with the full contents of the file , with all files in their paths

so you can look there and see if there is any plugin

of course another obvious thing is to read the installation instructions of the mod

it's usually mentioned if there is a plugin , though sometimes it's so obvious that people don't even mention it

I hope this answers the question :)

If you are just doing a texture mod, replacing textures that are already in the game, you do NOT have to have a .esp file (the .esp file is what makes the mod show up in the plugin window.) Because your texture will literally just overwrite the vanilla texture.

However, if you are adding NEW items/armor/weapons, you'll need a .esp file.

Also, you should really consider using mod organizer (the newest version) and not nexus mod manager. (It's... much... better than nexus mod manager. Mainly because it keeps the skyrim directory relatively stock, and keeps the mod separate. So you don't have to reinstall skyrim if you screw something up.)
