Computer Virus

Recommended Posts

My computer today detected malware on the system, and I have no idea where to turn to get rid of it. My Hp Support Assistant isn't working (and hasn't been working) which I'm assuming has been attacked for the express purpose of preventing the removal of whatever amount of virus' my computer is secretly harboring. There is no direct evidence that they are integrated into the system, but I know that they're there. Can someone offer me any advice on removing them?

The following link has quite a few free programs that I use & are quite effective: IObit

Follow the Downloads tab at top of page. Several things to choose from, look for the "Malware Fighter Free".

Also you might want to check out the "Game Booster 3" as well (doesn't remove malware but may give you an increase in FPS while running your game)

Also a great free antivirus that I've been using for years: AVG Free Edition

One of the first things a virus does on successfully invading your system is block access to anything that could remove it.

If you can, use a clean computer and create a rescue disk and use that to scan and remove the virus

Here is one of the better ones. http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/rescuedisk
