Mods to start with Skyrim

Hi all,

 

Im thinking of getting Skyrim when the steam summer sales (hopefully start) later this month. I've fallen in love with modding in New Vegas and was wondering what mods I should start with.

In New Vegas I generally run mods that

-overhaul gameplay (project nevada)

-improve realism (painful injuries)

-increase difficulty (more difficult Caesar's Legion, World of Pain etc etc)

-increase immersion (Eg more complex needs, farming, painful injuries, darker nights)

-add cool high tech armors and weapons that may or may not be lore friendly. depends if it looks nice and on my mood for the season

 

Is the steam workshop used much or is downloading mods in Skyrim similar to operating mods in Fallout New Vegas (ala FOMOD, NVSE)
