Problem with Console Corrupting Saves

Hi all. So I've got a weird problem that I haven't seen come up before. I recently reinstalled the GOTY edition of Oblivion, modded it thoroughly, then started a new game. Got out of the first dungeon with no issues, everything working beautifully. Then I used the console to add some items from a mod to my character, and to add some skill points to Armorer. Seemed like everything was fine. Saved, and exited. Came back to the game a day later, tried to load up my save, and it loaded...and then froze after 3 seconds. I tried loading another save. Same thing. When I loaded a backup save from just prior to exiting the first dungeon (prior to ever using the console), it worked. I then tested it out, used the console on my working save, few moments later it too froze 3 seconds after loading up. Does anyone know what causes this? Or how to fix this?

 

For reference, I am running the Steam GOTY version of Oblivion. I looked in the .ini file to see if something was wrong there. For what it's worth, ballowconsole does not appear in the .ini file, even though I was able to use the console by hitting ~. I added ballowconsole=1 to see if it would do anything, no change.

 

Update: Did some more testing, looks like all new saves are now freezing 3 seconds after load, not just after using the console. Don't think it could be savegame bloat, these are relatively fresh saves (just after exiting IC sewers). Really curious as to what's happening.

 

Update 2: Started a new game, could save and load normally while in IC Sewers, once exited, more freezes. Looks like the freezing after save load does not start until after all the new game prompts are done running after exiting the sewers.

Maybe you'll get a better advice from someone else but if i was to suggest anything,i'd say,start a new game with no mods at all,play until you'll exit the sewers,save and then add your mods one by one.What i mean by that: Install a mod,start the game,test things for a lil bit and if there will be no issues install the next mod.

 

If there are mods you've tried before and you know they're not responsible for this then go ahead and install em beforehand.

 

I know this will be a pain the butt so,if you wanna try an alternative first,download this ConScribe and when your game will crash again check the log.IF you're lucky then you might get a hint and manage to tackle the problem like that,if not then maybe you'll have to install the mods like i've told you.

Thanks for the advice. Luckily, after some more forum trolling/trawling, I discovered that the problem was likely UVII. I tried removing it, and things seem to be working fine now. Guess I'll just have to stick with Deadly Reflex...
