need help deleting mods

My oblivion folder is 22GB!!

 

I got so much junk in there i need to delete!

 

Problem is, I don't know if active mods or junk mods are using them.

 

Is there a tool that deletes mods by finding the mod resource files through the esp files and deletes them?

 

I don't mind doing it one by one

Not sure about a tool, but I have gone this route to ensure I completely deleted a mod:

 

1. Download the mod I want to delete into a temporary download folder.

2. Unzip within the same temp folder.

3. Uncheck the data file for the mod.

4. In Windows Explorer, I look at the files, find the same ones in Oblivion and delete them.

 

Takes a little time, but it works.

If you have custome mods that you made then use TES4FILES to collect only the necessary files you need. I also suggest that you make an OMOD that consists of all the many mods you consistently use and doesn't conflict so they stay in one file that easily moved.

 

On another note, all the compressed files you download and keep do the same as above and sort them into OMOD's then delete your compressed files. Check to make sure they don't conflict before doing so. You'll find it put's your mods in a much organized and space effecient format.
