C3ntury79
Has anyone had any problems with their items worth in terms of negative value? Whenever I go into any shop and try to sell any item, it is listed as a negative value in red (i.e. If I "sell" a sword for 10 gold it is listed as -10 in red and I'm charged that amount to sell it). I am only level 22 and Speach is @ 32, but I do have about 41 common/popular mods as well. Just wondering if anyone's heard of this, bug or not, before I start widdling away mods? Thank You for any help!
C3ntury79
Update and bump* I ended up uninstalling all mods and problem still occurs with all item value's prior to sale at 0 or negative. Wasn't worth my time considering all my textures got screwed up and spent hours reinstalling mods (Triss armour no longer works *sigh*). I've yet to start a new game and see if that fixes the values. koolko22
You did remove all of your mods, but sometimes you gotta reinstall skyrim to completely remove some mods.Srry man, i think thats the best option.
C3ntury79
Update* I uninstalled everything, restarted, and no barter bug running vanilla. Began reinstalling all mods with Boss/Bash and tested fresh start, no barter bug. Sooooo, decided to try uploading a recent save and barter bug initiates. Then ran on old save (just after character creation) and no barter bug with mods. Conclusion: I'm annoyed lol. Barter bug lies within gameplay and not mods so I'll continue my current save and when I sell an item for 0 or negative I'll use console to add its value to my account. If there was a console command to refresh the bartering system to vanilla I'd bet it'd ovetwrite and everything back to norm with mods. Oh well. C3ntury79
Double Update** Soooooo after installing Dawnguard the barter system restored to normal operations and my items could actually be sold for more tha nrgative or 0 value. Just dandy. Time passes and I eventually decide to make my way to complete the Pinemoon Cave quest "Sybille Stentor, the court wizard of Solitude, sends you on a miscellaneous quest to kill the leader of a group of vampires hiding in this cave." Well well, my friend, we meet again. Money glitches to negative and 0 values upon quest completion (previous saves work as normal up until quest success.) So I upload the older save and avoid Pinemoon and all is well. I make my way, over time, in joining the Dark Brotherhood and upon completion of the first contracts (didn't matter which order) of "Contract: Kill Beitild, Contract: Kill Narfi, Contract: Kill Ennodius Papius" the money bug struck again. So I give up. I'm just posting this in case someone else ever has this issue and will know they aren't the only one. I've yet to find a similar glitch report online. If yhere was a way to reset vanilla barter system or item values via console, it'd prob work, but I doubt that's viable. Eireamhoin
I know is post is quite old, but adding this comment so if someone is googling for a fix like me, it could help. I just possibly solved this same issue I was having I came across some posts talking about manually adjusting and then adjusting back your speechcraft skill. Well that did nothing.I found another that mentioned speechcraftmod So in consoleplayer.getavinfo speechcraftmod This was showing a -200 value...so I figured I'd just change it and see what happens.player.modav speechcraftmod 200This sets it to 0.I went up to vendor...sell items now have positive values!I then buy a breastplate from the vendor, turn around and try to sell it back and the sell price is around 1/4 or so (I'm not mathing =P). The same posting (by whismerhill) I saw said a -100 value in the speechcraftmod setting will make vendors sell items for 0 gold. Not sure what changed it, but I'm now happy I have a possible fix. Now to just play the game and see.
SMB92
On PC, you can set the fbartermin and fbartermax values, this is usually a big part of any mod that alters stores/trade/vendors. These values can change the game prices dramatically and also make it so speech has little to do with trade price. These are the values to fiddle with if you wanna make it easy or harder to buy and sell. Just for the sake ppl finding this on google, while this undead thread is still a little warm from its reincarnation ;)
