As the title saids: My skyrim se no longer opens. (Yes I updated skse64). Now the game won't open. The screen pops up and then closes itself. Basically giving me CTD. I've never had this issue before until now .

Could be a mod doing this? I haven't installed mods after the update pretty much, besides updating skse64, and some other mods. Could this be happening because of papyrus is out of date and some mods require it? I really don't understand what the heck is going on here... This really sucks, I want to play more but damnit all.. :wallbash:

Calm down.

Updates of the game by Bethesda often not only require updating SKSE. You often also need to update mods depending on SKSE, e.g. Racemenu, AdditemMenu, SKSE Fixes etc. Usually it will take some days for these mods to be updated, too.

Look for updates of your mods, that require SKSE. If you're lucky, they have already been updated. Else I'd suggest waiting - or rolling back to the previous version. Google it - I think it was already mentioned in one of the many "update - plz help" threads here.

To avoid updating issues in the future, you can follow this tutorial:

I'm having the same problem. When SSE was updated I was ready. I rolled back to 1.5.50. I waited while SKSE was updated, then all the mods I have that are SKSE-dependent (ECE, CACO, FISSES, a bunch of others), downloading them as they appeared, and I just now installed them all in order (SSE, SKSE, mods) and redid my load order, bashed patch, merged patch, as I always do when adding or removing mods. And now no worky. And rolling back everything I've just updated is ridiculous, especially since I'm only going to have to roll it all forward again eventually.

If anyone reading this knows of an SKSE-dependent mod that has not been updated yet and which might cause a crash, let me know. I thought I had them all.
