taryl80
Have seen for months a mod on the Nexus that makes it possible to take nuka world over with the minutemen or brotherhood of steel. Don't know if that mod includes settlement building in the park areas. Sadly I have forget the name of that mod. What the raiders matters: Every group of raiders has something similar with the other raider gangs, but they mostly a bunch of people that life for them self. So, it makes sense that some raider gangs have different behaviors. You see that also in Fallout: New Vegas. The fiends have there unique behavior, the khans (the player can even work for them) and jackals and so on. CiderMuffin
I did not like the Nuka World for the same reason I didn't like the Far Harbor DLC. If in the main game you are at war with the Synth, the Raiders & Children of Atom way are you not in the DLCs. In the main game it is kill or be killed with the raiders. Why am I not killing the raiders & freeing the slaves in the DLC? It would have been a great DLC if the end result was building settlements with the freed slaves. To me that is the obvious thing to do. No raid my own settlements. I do agree that the dungeons were nice but the reason for doing them was stupid. It's important to note not every raider group in 4 was allied with each other, in fact numerous times we saw raider gangs plotting against another or in-game lore text stating raiders were going to war with each other. The commonwealth raiders are barely organized and hardly structured groups outside of having a boss. The closest you get to organized raiders are the Triggermen who function like a mafia and the Gunners who are basically designed after PMCs. Questionable mercenaries who will do practically anything to make money. In Nuka-World however not only are the gangs organized perfectly and have a clear structure to them they have their own individual style and way of life. the Disciples are Might is Right raiders who believe anything goes as long as you can defend yourself, Operators are designed like a Mafia who are in it for the caps and the pack is a tribe akin to the Great Khans who depend on raiding for survival and as part of their culture. Have seen for months a mod on the Nexus that makes it possible to take nuka world over with the minutemen or brotherhood of steel. So, it makes sense that some raider gangs have different behaviors. You see that also in Fallout: New Vegas. The fiends have there unique behavior, the khans (the player can even work for them) and jackals and so on. Not necessarily true. As I point out many raiders go into it because of addiction, being sold off into slavery, to protect their families from the gang they're joining or because they were raised into it like the Great Khans were. There are also raiders who feel remorseful for their actions. Raiders are survivalists who come from nothing, were ex-slaves, joined to protect their loved ones or pushed out of their homes. Crime groups make a habit of recruiting those who are misfits, abused, can't function properly in certain societies and various other problems. These gangs prey on the weak and will sometimes force people to join through torture (See Forged and the Judge) Honestly that was the biggest flaw of Nuka-World, not showing that some raiders didn't like the life they were in like in the base game. Evangela
Never even played it myself. What prevented me from doing so was the whole "become raider" thing. This is not to say it's a bad DLC by any means, just that me personally had grown a little tired of being forced into roles I didn't want to take on. You can kill them all and then just play the game as yourself and you still get their cool outfits.

Unless you have the season pass and therefore didn't pay for this DLC independently, becoming a raider is the only way to get your money's worth out of this DLC. The only thing you're missing out on is the raider aspect which is just more settlement stuff, the raider specific perks and radiant quests. Otherwise you're still getting the most experience because the DLC was designed around exploring the park and clearing out each section. Otherwise there really isn't anything else you're missing out on. That's kinda it. Edited October 12, 2018 by CiderMuffin

I should've done that years ago haha. Got it on my wishlist, waiting for a sale to hit. Christmas rolling around soon so that should be sale time. You can also get the mod which removes the need to raid your Commonwealth settlements, https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18121 take Cait along because she likes it when you are a jerk, play with the raiders until their final battle and don't do their radiant quests. Then slaughter them.
taryl80
Well... If you play as a member of one of the evil factions, you should know that you maybe have to do evil things sometimes . In my most playthroughs I end always up as a good guy, but I always appreciate it when a game let me choose whether I want to be good or bad. Zzyxzz
Well, even when you play as a raider, you don't have to be a real raider. See yourself as a 'Betraider'.
