bsparks5232
Hello, I am interested in modding Skyrim animations. Specifically I would like to create new animations from scratch that incorporate actual medieval combat techniques and realism, so basically a total overhaul. Is this feasible? What sort of involvement, time, and resources would I be looking at if I were to seriously consider this? Are there any good tutorials out there? I do not have the actual game yet, but I have played Oblivion and I have animating experience using Autodesk Softimage mod tool to make .smd animations for Mount&Blade Warband. And Sorry, can't tell you how time consuming it is, I usually take animations from somewhere else. If you have experience animating though, you could kind of predict how much time it will consume no? You'd have to create a whole lot of different animations though. There are 3 MELEE combat animation sets, two handed, one handed(+shield), and dual wield. Each has at least 2 standart attacks for standing in place and attacking, going forward and attacking, going forwardleft and attacking, left and attacking etc, up to backwardright.. And they have at least 4 directional power attacks and one in place. Dual wield has always a bit more I think. Well either way, after all, I can indeed say that it would be very time consuming, maybe if you worked 6 hours daily on this you'd need some weeks or so. I don't know. Maybe that time prediction was complete nonsense but I just have had this sort of time range in mind just now. And please dont take any of this I just said as a fact I really have no clue sometimes and it could be a lot of what I said was wrong.
