PickleJar
Alright, I'm flat-out stumped on how this game works sometimes. Situation: I like using That Gun. 's cool. Problem is, it reloads with a speedloader in its animation. That means the speedloader helpfully clips in a really ugly fashion right into the grip of the gun. So, I'm like, okay, I'll remove the speedloader. Cue half an hour of trying to make the texture clear. Fail. Cue an hour of messing around in Nifskope to remove the speedloader mesh. Success! Sort of. I use WME. I made sure to edit those meshes too, and when viewed in Nifskope, not a SINGLE .nif file has the speedloader visible. But, when I load up my game, the speedloader is somehow still there and still broken. How can something possibly show up when its model has been removed, and how can I fix this dumb thing? Cyberlazy
Where did you put the .nif file exactly, and do you have 'archive invalidate' installed?
PickleJar
I put the original That Gun .nif in meshes/weapons/1handpistol, and the WME meshes in meshes/weapons/WME/1handpistol. I do have archive invalidate, I only ever activate or deactivate it through the NVMM. Edited June 19, 2012 by PickleJar
Cyberlazy
that does appear to be the correct file/path. also note thatgungo.nif that is the object when droped into the world Maybe some ESP is changing what model is being used? (Some gun/texture replacer/upgrader?) try turning off all your .esm/esp files?
PickleJar
The 'thatgungo' .nif didn't have a speedloader model attached to it, so I left it alone. I do have Millenia's texture replacer, but he's only done the texture and not altered the model. The speedloader has its own texture under fiveshotspeedloader.dds, to boot, and that hasn't been changed. WME is the only thing that does edit the .223, and it doesn't change the base model. Even weirder, the WME meshes showed up in the GECK without the speedloader even before I removed it, but for some reason it still appears in-game regardless. There's no way I can tell to get rid of this be-damned thing. :<
