NifSkope not responding

So I recently downloaded NifSkope in order to do some minor editing and add glow maps to a few things in New Vegas. However, when I open it up, if doesn't seem to want to respond to me 99% of the time. I can drag the view around in the render window and mouse over buttons, but when I click on things it only very rarely responds. I've managed to open up a mesh file, but I can't actually do anything besides look at it because nothing responds to me. I've looked around everywhere I could think of and can't find anyone else with this problem.

 

I'm running Windows 7 and NifSkope is the only thing I've had any trouble with. I haven't tried uninstalling and reinstalling it yet, since I was hoping there was another solution to this.
