Ceiis
Hi all, got a problem that I just can't seem to solve: the dreaded Neck Seam (!!!). It appears to be a slight mismatch in the colors of the head and the body, resulting in a visible neck seam. Also, a seam near the wrists, but with that, it doesn't look like to be a mismatch in colors. It's effecting all NPCs, whether it be named NPCs or just bandits, except for custom followers that I've downloaded. It's affecting old and new saves. When starting a new game, the issue is evident right from the get go, right from the opening scene where the dragonborn has been captured and is en route to Helgen. On the horse thief you can notice the neck seam, and on Ralof you can notice the seam near the wrists. My old saves have been deleted, along with every file I could find that had anything to do with Skyrim SE. I've tried uninstalling and deleting all mods I've downloaded, even going so far as to delete NMM. I've done a clean install (read the guides for doing so and followed all the steps), deleting every Skyrim SE folder on my computer. And yet the problem persists. The only mods I could think of that may have caused this is Flower Girls, or perhaps Seductress Faye, because it happened after I downloaded them, but I hesitate to blame those mods because even after I've uninstalled all mods, deleted NMM, and done a clean install, the Neck/Wrist seam is still there. I've done some searching on google, and have noticed others have had similar issues has me, but have yet to find a solution for my problem. I'm at a lost at what to try next, so I'm hoping someone has maybe encountered my issue before and may have the solution for it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S.: I never used/installed a body replacer, or a face replacer. Side Note: I also have "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for TES: Skyrim SE" turned off. Algabar
Most neck seams are a texture issue: Head and body textures not fitting together perfectly. There's also neckseams, that are caused by ENB: Especially the "subsurface scattering" feature can cause neckseams. Disabling subsurface scattering or choosing a different ENB preset will help. Some ENBs and lighting conditions in general also accentuate neckseams, that would otherwise be almost unnoticeable. In the end it comes down to this: Textures and/or lighting. So no need to reinstall everything over and over again. Maybe the best way would to look either for textures for the vanilla body - or use a body replacer, which will (at least for females) open up a wide choice of texture options. For male bodies, there are fewer options in general. BTW, there were discussions about neck seams in Vanilla SE. Don't know if that "problem" still persists. There are definitely body replacers and textures, that don't have neck seams at all. (e.g. CBBE).
Ceiis
Had an ENB, but I removed that as well and the neck/wrist seams are still there. Didn't have this problem even when using an ENB, just after downloading Flower Girls. But again, I don't really want to place blame on that mod, or any mod really, since even after removing everything and doing a clean install, there is still the Neck/Wrist seams. Yes, if I can't find a solution, guess I'm going to have to use body replacers and textures. Side Note: You'd recommend CBBE, but what mod would you recommend for male bodies? Algabar
Side Note: You'd recommend CBBE, but what mod would you recommend for male bodies? I'm using "Vitruvia" as a texture replacer:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9112 IMHO, it's the best male texture replacer, that's currently available. Vitruvia comes in different versions for different body replacers - look at the options and choose what you like best. ^^ EDIT: If you want to keep the Vamilla male body, you should also take a look at "Skysight". I really like the "rough" style of this texture replacer. Fits Skyrim very well:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6580
Ceiis
Alright, thank you! Will try it out and see if it fixes it. Either way, thanks for your help. Will give an update here. Now begins again the long journey of getting all of the mods I used installed again.
