Some mods work, others do not.

Up until today, I was enjoying my game with over 90 mods enabled. I had gotten the occasional CTD before but it was gradually getting worse. I was afraid my game was getting bloated from my mods, so I tried to start a new game. This only made the CTD's and white-screen lockups more frequent. So, I uninstalled the entire thing via steam and uninstalled NMM and everything else related to the game, and spent the next hour reinstalling the game.

With the game freshly installed, I now installed NMM, SKSE and everything else I needed to run things like SkyUI, made sure the data files list was enabled and began installing my mods again. But upon starting the game, I found that half or so of my mods just did no longer work. Mods such as "Classic classes" which is supposed to pop up immediately during the cart ride with Ralof and Ulfric to help you select a class á la Morrowind, did not initiate. Meanwhile, a mod like "alternate start" DID work. and this went on, I could go down the list of my mod manager and basically check every other mod off as no longer working. :wallbash:

I have never encountered anything like this before, with the game suddenly deciding that some mods are no longer allowed to function while others are. I've asked friends, family, anyone who would afford me an answer and all I've gotten is "seems like there's a problem with your game". This will be the third time I wait for steam to finish downloading the game files and I am growing sad, tired and desperate.

I really hope someone might have some happy news to share in regards to this, because I've really come to enjoy many of the mods now "broken".

There have been reports that the recent update to Skyrim, version 1.6, which you probably have, breaks lots of mods. Lots of modders will discover that the mods they built and uploaded no longer work and will need to be fixed if it is determined what needs to be done to fix them.

I have heard that version 1.6 breaks mods that edit or add races.

Don't you just love the fine workmanship and stability of Skyrim and the convenient auto updating feature of Steam?
