Emperor?

WARNING: THIS MAY SPOIL THE MAINQUEST FOR THOSE WHO FOR SOME REASON HAVEN'T FINISHED IT YET

After the fall of Martin Septim, the last heir to the throne of Crodiil, the Empire stands without and Emperor and the Elder Council is running everything. But sooner or latter, they will need a new Emperor. But who is fit to take up such a task, who is the right one to start up a new bloodline of Emperors?

Well, who is more fit for the job than the Champion of Cyrodiil?

Why not make a questline to make yourself an Emperor? Let's say that Occato talks to you, gives you some quests to create a new Amulet of Kings (maybe enchanted?), prove yourself worthy and then the Ceremony of Kings? I don't see why it couldn't happen, who is more fit and perfect, and who deserves it, more than you, the Champion and saviour of Cyrodiil?

The Elder Council mod will give you the option of becoming Emperor, once that portion of the mod has been coded and tested. Updates to that mod are posted periodically.

It will? Where did you read that? I usually check up on Giskards blog once in a while and I havent read anything about that (I think). The farthest I know you can advance is to become Duke Of Colovia (which is very cool in itself especially when combined with KA :D)

But as to whether the PC from TESIV will be the Emperor in TESV I am more than doubtful. It isnt really feasable for the Empire to have an Emperor who was a PC in a previous game. Bethesda have always solved the questions of PCs from previous games being incorperated into the lore by making them completely anonomous. Ria Silmane had her champion, Daggerfall had its unnamed hero, Morrowind had the Nerevarine and Oblivion will have the Champion of Cyrodill. It wouldnt really work out for the game to have an Emperor with no name because they chose for the Champion to become Emperor. The next Emperor (if indeed the Empire survives) will probably be someone who can in some way by marriage or otherwise be linked to Tiber Septim. It has happened before in the Empire that no "direct" heir was present and so the Elder Council chose the one with the most legitamate claim ie the closest blood tie to Tiber Septim.

Tallhat, going back to my post, what I said was "once that portion of the mod has been coded and tested."

Giskard is still adding to The Elder Council. It is not finished yet.

I asked Giskard back around the first part of this year if he could "make a mod that allowed you to take a chance at being Emperor, since the throne is empty in vanilla Oblivion."

Believe me, Giskard won't be finished with The Elder Council until the throne can be occupied.

Think about this - he built an entire Throne Room with no one sitting in it. Who do you think he will allow to properly take that throne? You, Tallhat, once he is finished with the mod. Won't that be cool, running the entie kingdom?

Yes, Varus, that WOULD be cool. Which is why I thought I'd ask for such mod to be done :) But if someone is working on it, as it seems to me, can you please give me the link to the website where I can check out the mod?:)

Sure, no problem. You'll find the mod files here: The Elder Council

There are two large files (Core & Main). Core is to be installed first. The install folder is \Oblivion (not \Oblivion\Data) for both files.

This mod has a lot in it, so much so that proper Load-Order is critical.

It will indeed be very cool if you can become Emperor, though as I stated in my previous post that is probably not what is going to happen in the official lore. But for my private game it would be awesome :D
