trying to use custom hair on NPC

Hey all. I just recently got into using the CS tool, and needless to say I'm having a little trouble.

 

I managed to figure out how to get an NPC into the game, but for some reason the hair I've given her, which is form Ren's Beauty Pack, will not show up in game and always disappears when I reopen the .esp file in the CS.

 

I have Ren's Beauty Pack loaded when I'm working in CS, and it's selected for in game playing as well. I can't figure out what to do.

 

Also, if anyone knows how to use Argonian hairstyles on other races, that would be great, too. :) Thanks in advance!

I think the problem you have is that the esp in itself doesn't contain the hairstyle, instead you have your custom esp as active and ren "running in the background". This doesn't save the hairstyles to the esp you're working on, so when you next open it up, the hair won't be there. Same thing happens if you use a custom race, it'll reset to a bald vampire unless the race is directly from the "active" esp.

 

Solution;

-Open the hair menu, make a duplicate of the hairstyle you want and make it un-playable if you don't want it cluttering your character creation menu, open up the race menu and choose the race of your custom npc, open body tab((?)posting from school atm, can't check. xD), then drag and drop the duplicate hair into the hair style slot there. After those steps, close both tabs by clicking ok, then open up your custom NPC, use the duplicated hairstyle, save the esp and everything should work. And btw, since you wanted the argonian hairs available for another race, just do the drag-and-drop I mentioned earlier.
