Seeker17281
Hi all I've been working on a character who's a mage/theif and decided that one of my main spell lines should be illusion. I'm using Midas Magic though I haven't found any of the reactors yet or midas spells yet (mainly because so far I'm not looking for them), and am using Skyrim Redone as well. Though my other magic skills are advancing just fine, Illusion despite heavy use of Clairvoyance and a goodly amount of Fury hasn't budged from 20. Is there some way to test if I'm bugged there or am I using a poor spell for trying to advance that school? Any feedback would be appreciated. dragonslayer2k12
You can get training from someone at the college of winterhold and some other places I can't remember atm. But you have to keep advancing your main level to get to the next round of illusion training.

Thanks for the reply Dragonslayer, I actually did that in frustration at the skill not leveling any from casting Clairvoyance almost constantly. I was almost positive it was a mod glitch I was running into, but I was wrong about that. :wallbash: In between searches on how to troubleshoot mods, I strayed a bit into character build threads and ran across a post that basically outlined how to easily level Illusion by acquiring the spell Muffle. On a lark I fired up Skyrim, loaded my character and purchased the spell, learned it, and two castings later, the Illusion skill went up. I then walked from Whitehall to a bandit camp for a quest, casting Muffle the entire time along the way to see if this would be a effective way to at least get to 40 in Illusion. I got to skill 44 by the time I got to the door. So in short, it was the spell Clairvoyance that was the problem, MM is working just fine :whistling:
